We are sorry we cannot provide horses. All riders are required to bring their own horses.
What is a Welcome to Trail weekend? Will You enjoy it? this is what you can expect ....
When you and your horse arrive on Friday (4.00pm onwards) you will be given space to relax and unpack. You can select your bunk-room/bunk, and settle your horse in. Once you and your horse are settled you can unwind with a drink and nibbles to help get into the mood for a scrumptious dinner.
Rides are between 6km and 15km. On Saturday and Sunday mornings the group will enjoy a cooked breakfast before heading out to the Trail Obstacle Course at 10am.
After lunch riders will head out for a ride through the beautiful Strath Valley.
Hillcrest Homestead is located in Strath Creek, and is a rustic cozy old country farmhouse with a large kitchen, huge dining room, two lounge rooms with open fire places, four bunk rooms, two bathrooms/toilets.
BYO Slippers to keep your feet warm inside the house, sheets/doona/sleeping bag, towels & feed for your horse.
How much will the weekend cost? $460 covers accommodation meals & snacks for the weekend.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING ALONG
All humans need not worry about food during this weekend. We try very hard to provide adequate snacks, non-alcoholic refreshments and meals
Breakfast, lunch & dinner will be provided - No dinner on Sunday.

We always monitor conditions. If it is unsafe to host the ride you will have the option to nominate another Welcome to Trail date that suits you, or receive a full refund.

COST: WELCOME TO TRAIL WEEKEND $460
Your weekend includes Ride Leaders for both days, TRV members will cook and make your stay comfortable, two dinners, nibbles, two cooked breakfasts, lunch, a bed to rest your head (BYO all bedding, towel & horse feed) and safe and secure paddocks for your horses.
Pre-payment is essential and must be received three weeks prior to the Welcome to Trail Weekend. Ride numbers are limited. If payment is not received three weeks prior to the ride, the booking will move to enquiry status and the next paid booking will be accepted in its place.

Refund Policy
As a courtesy to our helpers and others on the waiting list we require two weeks (fourteen days) notice of cancellation.
To facilitate a refund we will endeavour to fill a cancellation with another rider from our waiting list, but this is not always possible as short notice may impact people’s availability.
No refunds for cancellations received within two weeks prior to event. All refunds will incur a $200 admin/service/catering charge (with the exception of TRV having to cancel event due to fire or health risk).
Neither the organising committee of this Welcome to Trail Weekend, nor the owners of the Trail Riders of Victoria property accept any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property.
There may be more hosted rides throughout 2024, so keep checking this space.
