What is a hosted ride? Will You enjoy it? this is what you can expect ....
Hosted Rides for Confident Riders
When you and your horse arrive on Friday (4.30 pm onwards) you will be given space to relax and unpack. You can select your bunk-room/bunk, and select a pen or paddock for your horse to settle in. Once you and your horse are settled you can unwind with a drink and nibbles to help get into the mood for a scrumptious dinner.
Paddock/Pen selection is on a first arrive basis, but don't panic, the paddocks are lovely.
Hosted Rides for Confident Riders - are for riders who can confidently walk, trot and canter, and can ride through all types of terrain for up to 20-25 kilometres.
On Saturday and Sunday mornings the group will enjoy a cooked breakfast before riding out at 10am through the surrounding Strath Valley.

Hillcrest Homestead is located in Strath Creek, and is a rustic cozy old country farmhouse with a large kitchen, huge dining room, two lounge rooms with open fire places, four bunk rooms, two bathrooms/toilets.
BYO Slippers to keep your feet warm inside the house, bedding, towels & feed for your horse.
How much will the weekend cost? $440 covers accommodation meals & snacks for the weekend.
Confidence Building Hosted Rides
We love asking our guests questions to find out what is needed .... and this is how the Confidence Building Hosted Ride was born. The format is basically the same as our regular Hosted Rides, with a session set aside for you to unwind on the obstacle course prior to going out on the trail after lunch. Riders can ride out on the roads and trails after lunch if they feel confident to do so. If confidence is lacking another session in the obstacle course is an option. The trail rides are shorter and easier.
Sunday's program will be guided as to what level of confidence is reached on Saturday. The group may be split if needed.
The Confidence Hosted Rides are perfect for riders who just want to learn a bit more about trail riding, or for riders who have returned after years out of the saddle and want to regain confidence to trail ride again, or for dressage riders/show jumpers who want to feel more secure outside the arena.
You can expect to be spoilt so you need only focus on you and your horse having a good time.
We always monitor conditions. If it is unsafe to host the ride you will have the option to nominate another Hosted Ride date that suits you, or receive a full refund.
A glimpse of what to expect on a confidence hosted ride...
Cost - hosted rides: $440
Your weekend includes Ride Leaders for both days, TRV members will cook and make your stay comfortable, two dinners, nibbles, two cooked breakfasts, lunch, a bed to rest your head (BYO bedding, towel & feed) and safe and secure paddocks for your horses.

Your weekend includes Ride Leaders for both days, TRV members will cook and make your stay comfortable, two dinners, nibbles, two cooked breakfasts, lunch, a bed to rest your head (BYO bedding, towel & feed) and safe and secure paddocks for your horses, obstacle course to help get you trail riding ready.
Pre-payment is essential and must be received two weeks prior to the Hosted Ride. Ride numbers are limited. If payment is not received two weeks prior to the ride, the booking will move to enquiry status and the next paid booking will be accepted in its place.

Refund Policy
As a courtesy to our helpers and others on the waiting list we require two weeks (fourteen days) notice of cancellation.
To facilitate a refund we will endeavour to fill a cancellation with another rider from our waiting list, but this is not always possible as short notice may impact people’s availability.
No refunds for cancellations received within two weeks prior to event. All refunds will incur a $200 admin/service/catering charge (with the exception of TRV having to cancel event due to fire or health risk).
Neither the organising committee of this Confidence/Hosted Ride, nor the owners of the Trail Riders of Victoria property accept any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property.
There may be more hosted rides throughout 2024, so keep checking this space.
