The Welcome to Trail Weekend is your chance to swap arenas and paddocks for open country — 2 days of guided trail riding, great food, and the company of riders who love their horses as much as you do.

Welcome to Trail is designed for riders at every level who want to explore beyond the arena and build real trail confidence — in a small group of 12, with ride leaders who genuinely care, and no pressure to keep up.

Everything Included in Your $490
TRV members cook, guide, and host — you just bring your horse and show up ready to ride.
Expert Ride Leaders
Experienced TRV ride leaders guide both Saturday and Sunday sessions, giving you support and expertise to grow in the saddle.
2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches & 1 Dinner
TRV members cook two cooked breakfasts, two lunches, and a Saturday dinner. Friday dinner is BYO, or join at The General pub at your own expense.
Bunk Bed & Hot Shower
Dormitory-style bunk rooms in a cosy country homestead. BYO all bedding, towels and toiletries.
Trail Obstacle Course
All riders start Saturday morning on the obstacle course together. Designed around real trail obstacles — after the first session, the course is entirely optional.
Strath Valley Trail Rides
After lunch each day, head out for a ride through the beautiful Strath Valley. Rides range from 6km to 15km, tailored to the group’s capabilities.
Safe Horse Paddocks
Secure paddocks for your horse for the full weekend. BYO electric fencing if your horse doesn’t like sharing paddocks.

Riding experiences are tailored to riding capabilities
Build Real Confidence on the Trail Obstacle Course
All riders join together on the obstacle course first thing Saturday morning. The course has been specifically designed around the real obstacles you encounter while trail riding — so every session makes you a better, more confident rider.
After the first morning session, it’s entirely your choice — spend more time on the course, or head straight out on the trail rides. TRV volunteers are available for every obstacle course session.

Your Home for the Weekend
A rustic, cosy old country farmhouse in the heart of the Strath Valley — with everything you need for a relaxed weekend away.
Hillcrest Homestead, Strath Creek
Located at 1773 Broadford-Flowerdale Road, Strath Creek VIC 3658, Hillcrest Homestead is set in the heart of the beautiful Strath Valley — surrounded by rolling hills and perfect trail riding country.
The homestead features a large kitchen, a huge dining room, two lounge rooms with wood fireplaces, three bunk rooms, and two bathrooms. The property has safe and secure horse paddocks and is central to stunning riding country.

Places fill soon after new dates are released. We only run three events per year and limit each to 12 riders — so don’t wait to lock in your place.
